About COTR Daingerfield

Our History
Church on the Rock – Daingerfield is known throughout East Texas as “A Loving People, Serving a Loving God.” We are a Spirit-filled, multi-racial, non-denominational church that values every person we encounter and desires to be a place of healing, hope, and wholehearted worship. Our heart is to live out the Great Commission and the Great Commandment — loving God, loving people, and serving our community with joy.
What began in 1991 as a small home gathering has grown into a vibrant church home for more than 150 families. Shortly after the church began, Randy Seybert was appointed as Senior Pastor and Dr. Brockway as Associate Pastor. In 1996, Pastor Randy left his position as Morris County Agricultural Extension Agent to serve the church full-time. His wife, Elizabeth Seybert, followed in 2003, leaving her teaching role to fully invest in ministry alongside her husband.
From Christian Temple to Church on the Rock
After meeting in a home for a few months, the church rented a building in Daingerfield and gathered for five years as Christian Temple Church. In time, the name was changed to Church on the Rock, joining the Church on the Rock Network of Ministries. In 1997, God opened the door to purchase the old Glass Chevrolet Building. A generous couple provided an interest-free loan, and through the sacrificial giving of members, over $240,000 was raised to remodel and furnish the new church — all debt-free. The first service in the remodeled sanctuary was held on Easter Sunday, 2000, and the Youth Building was added that same year.
A Legacy of Ministry
Pastor Randy’s calling began in 1973 when he was filled with the Holy Spirit and radically transformed. Since then, he has served faithfully as a teacher, preacher, campus Bible study leader, Corps of Cadets chaplain at Texas A&M, and now as a pastor with over 30 years of service. Elizabeth brings her own anointed ministry of administration, counseling, teaching, and leadership, especially among the women of the church.
Together, they’ve helped lead a multi-generational and unified family of believers where worship is passionate, the presence of God is treasured, and spiritual gifts and fruit are encouraged in every believer.
Looking Forward
Words are truly inadequate to describe all that God has done over the past 30+ years. We are humbled, grateful, and full of expectation for the future. Our prayer is simple: that we would faithfully love, trust, and obey the Lord — and that one day, we would hear Him say, “Well done, My good and faithful servants.”

A haven for the hurting, the rejected, and those burned out on religion — where everyone experiences love, peace, encouragement, and forgiveness.
At COTR, every person is accepted and significant.
We envision:
6. Transformed Youth and Children
Anointed children and youth ministries where the next generation is radically transformed by the Holy Spirit and fully committed to Jesus.

A body that trusts God for the impossible — where His Word is confirmed with signs, wonders, and spiritual gifts that build up the Church.
8. Powerful Worship & Praise
A dynamic, expressive worship ministry filled with instruments, dance, and Biblical praise — honoring God with passion and freedom.
9. A Culturally Relevant Family Ministry
Creative, modern ministry methods that never compromise the unchanging truth of the Gospel — ministering to every generation and background.
10. A House of Prayer
Faithful prayer warriors and intercessors covering the church, its people, and the region — because Jesus said, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.”
We’re building:
11. Healthy Small Groups
Intimate, life-giving groups led by trained lay pastors — the heartbeat of our care ministry, discipleship, evangelism, and leadership development.
12. Whole-Life Transformation
A place where biblical principles equip people with real-life skills — ministering to the whole person while actively reaching out to the community with God’s truth.

Our MISSION
At Church on the Rock – Daingerfield, our mission is clear:
To make disciples of Jesus Christ and advance the Kingdom of God.
We exist to glorify God, love people, and see lives transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Everything we do flows from the Great Commandment and the Great Commission — to love God wholeheartedly, love our neighbor, and make disciples of all nations.
Our Six-Fold Purpose
(Matt. 22:37-40, Matt. 28:19-20, Jn. 17, Eph. 4:1-16, and Acts 2:1-47)
We fulfill our mission through six core expressions:
1. Celebrate His Presence – WORSHIP
We gather to exalt Jesus and invite His presence with passionate, Spirit-filled praise.
2. Demonstrate His Love – MINISTRY
We serve our church family and community with compassion, generosity, and the heart of Jesus.
3. Declare His Word – EVANGELISM
We boldly share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world, near and far.
4. Train His People – DISCIPLESHIP
We equip believers to grow in maturity, live in obedience, and walk in the power of the Spirit.
5. Unite His Family – FELLOWSHIP
We build deep, Christ-centered relationships that reflect the unity and love of God’s family.
6. Communicate with God – PRAYER
We prioritize prayer as the foundation for every ministry, knowing that without Him, we can do nothing.
