The Spirit of God and the Word of God

God has not left His people without direction. He has given us His Word, and He has given us His Spirit. We need both.

In this message, Pastor Randy teaches on the relationship between the Spirit of God and the Word of God. The Holy Spirit will never lead us away from Scripture, and Scripture is not meant to be approached apart from dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Some people want the Spirit without the Word, which can lead to confusion and imbalance. Others want the Word without the Spirit, which can lead to dryness and routine without power. But biblical Christianity holds both together.

The Word of God gives us truth, foundation, correction, and instruction. The Spirit of God brings conviction, illumination, empowerment, and life. The Spirit helps us understand and apply the Word, and the Word helps us discern what is truly from the Spirit.

This matters deeply in the life of the church. We do not want to be people who chase emotion without truth. We also do not want to be people who know doctrine but lack spiritual life. We want to be people who are grounded in Scripture and alive in the Spirit.

When the Word and Spirit are honored together, believers grow in maturity. Worship becomes deeper. Discernment becomes stronger. Obedience becomes clearer. The church becomes healthier.

God speaks through His Word, and He leads by His Spirit. We need to be people who listen, obey, and stay surrendered to both.
